In three years, Tastes at Pawleys has returned over $210,000 to the community through organizations that feed the hungry and nourish the lives of people in our area. With unemployment in Georgetown County at 14 percent, the need is even greater this year.

Tastes at Pawleys 2010 has two beneficiaries: Father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen and Friendship Place.

Father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen is located on the Precious Blood of Christ Church campus. Opened with funds from the first Tastes at Pawleys, it has now served over 18,000 meals. It is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch and on Saturday mornings for breakfast, with over 200 people receiving a meal each week

Friendship Place is a nonprofit Christian organization that works to meet the unmet needs of our county. Through its food kitchen on Front Street in Georgetown, it provides hot meals six days a week. Its programs also give emergency temporary shelter to the homeless, provide job training for the unemployed and underemployed and offer transportation for the uninsured to Baskervill’s Smith Medical Clinic.
